The 5th District York Rite convention

We are excited to share that the 5th District York Rite Annual Convention will be held at Sandy Springs Lodge on Saturday. March 26th, 2022. While Sandy Springs Lodge has hosted the Convention in the past it will be the first time that the event will be held at the 6700 Vernon Woods Dr location. Notably, 2022 is the 75th Anniversary of Sandy Springs Lodge and the 100th anniversary of the York Rite. We would like to ask your participation to help create a memorable event. This represents an opportunity to learn more about the York Rite and to encourage brethren to join a chapter or council in the 5th district.

John Miller the Chair of the Cryptic Mason Medical Research Foundation (CMMRF) and his team have agreed to confer the Royal Order of Zanzibar degree at the convention. This lighthearted “side degree” combines humor and entertainment to create a fun experience and is open to masons and their significant others. The 30-minute degree will be given after lunch and registration for the degree will start at 12:30. There is a one-time $25 donation to the CMMRF charity for each participant. Everyone will receive a lapel pin and a certificate.

All Master Masons and their ladies are invited to attend the lunch which will be served at 11:30 right before the degree. There will be a lunch with sandwhiches, chips, drinks and dessert for $10. Please use the “Get Tickets” link to reserve your spot(s). We would appreciate volunteers from Alpharetta and Roswell to assist Mt Horeb Chapter and Euclid Council members to man the registration table in the morning. Convention registration starts at 9am and the meeting at 10am. The lodge will be open at 8am and there will be coffee and donuts available for a small donation.
